What a fabulous time we’ve had today during our International Day celebrations. The children have thoroughly enjoyed sampling the delights from around the world and seeing the colourful and vibrant sites from all the countries flags.
We have been very busy making our ‘Spacey Shelters’ and the children have worked very well in their teams. This week we have also written some interesting explanations about our household appliances work…. All is not what it seems… Ask your child to explain how their chosen appliance works! Next week will be short and sweet but we’re very much looking forward to National Day and we will be writing an explanation about how you might capture an Alien! Our Star of the Week is Mohammed, for his brilliant work on Explanation Texts. Enjoy your weekend. This week the children have produced excellent work for our Space display, comparing the planets Venus and Mars. Where would you like to visit? Please ask your children where they chose and go and their reasons why they’d like to go there! This week I’ve had the pleasure of reading some interesting Mythical stories written by 5C. Our star of the week is Arkan for his descriptive Mythical story. We also thoroughly enjoyed our trip to see Barmy Britain at the Madinat theatre. Your children were at credit to yourselves and JPS. Next week we will be involved in writing instructions during our English lessons and in Maths we will be continuing our work of understanding shape. Please can you read the attached information with regards to National Day. Have a good weekend.
Welcome back to the start of a new half term. Hope you all had a lovely break. The children this week have started work on their new topic ‘Mission to Mars’. We have made fact files about the planets.
Thank you to everyone for sending me your book reviews on Google Drive. I have printed them off and we now have a ‘book of reviews’ so if any children are thinking about reading a book they can read the reviews of their class mates first. When you are finished reading a library book, it would be nice if you could write a review and we will continue to add to our 5C collection. We have also enjoyed reading and acting out the Myth ‘Perseus and Medusa’ we definitely have some budding actors and actresses! Star of the Week – Brayden McKay for his storyboard retelling the story of Perseus and Mudusa. A meeting will take place on Monday 17th November at 6.30pm, in the main hall about the camp in Term 2. Absolute Adventure (camp provider), will be there to give a short talk and take questions. Please attend if you wish. |
