We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead! On Tuesday 5E went to see the all-new production of BARMY BRITAIN. We saw the battle of Boudicca how Queen Elizabeth entertain England also how Dick Turpin finally got his comeuppance! The trip was truly amazing. In topic the children had a debate about to whether astronauts should be sent to Venus or to Mars.In triads the children will used the internet to find out as much information about Venus and Mars as they can. The children needed to explore both planets and decide which planet they think would be best for a manned mission. Next Thursday is International Day this is a special day for children to celebrate their home countries it’s a fun day for the children, teachers and parents. Children are encouraged to their national dress on this epic day. The achievement award went to Adham Zaxi for his outstanding English work. Well done Adham J This week we have developed our descriptive writing skills using similes, metaphors and personification. The children planned and wrote their own mythical story and I was so pleased at the amazing the high level vocabulary used. We landed on Mars this week! We planned an 8 day space exploration and decided on 6 most important items we would take for an exciting day of exploring. Reminder- Next Tuesday is our Horrible Histories trip. This week we have started reading a range of Myths and Legends. We looked at the key features and in small groups the children to read the myths. The children Discussed what each of the myths had in common – hero, beast, problem, magic item, resolution. Next week we will be writing our very myth. ‘Mission to Mars’ topic has blasted off to a great start! The children used their excellent research skills and found out some fascinating facts and the different planets in the solar system.
